1) in a shared building, who are the other tenants?
in the startup i did a couple of years ago, i didn't look at this (although
pratically i would have gone into the building anyway.)
one of the businesses was a genetics testing lab, which triggered hazmat
issues when the local fire department responded. this caused delays in
response, because they needed to suit up before they could go in. all it
took was some idiot burning something in a toaster oven and we'd have to
wait twice as long as normal to get back into the building.
2) is the local FD volunteer or professional?
what stats are available on response and performance?
at that same startup, the other issue was that the local FD was volunteer.
they were a cut above average for a VFD, in part because the RPI tech park
was in their territory, but it still had an impact.
those two come right off the top of my head.
