I've bought ATX cases, with 250W power supplies, for about $350CDN
(quantity one) from the Macase outlet here in Toronto. You can find
them on the WWW at <URL:http://www.macase.com.tw/>. They have
www.macase.com too, but the distributor list on the .tw site seems more
up-to-date and covers the entire world! ;-)
You need to add another fan to them, and they're not the best design for
mounting in cabinets (they're not EIA compliant -- the last one I got
wouldn't fit between the rails with sliders on it and I had to mount it
by its ears).
Really good high-end chassis do cost a lot more $450-$650 CDN for a
locally made chassis <HTTP://www.transduction.com/>, also available in
Miami, Fl., and then there are lots of rip-off artists who charge twice
that for lower-quality construction that's not made in North America!
Lots of folks say Telenet System Solutions, Inc. are worthy suppliers of
rack-mount equipment, and they've got one of the best prices I've seen
on a 2U NLX chassis for as little as $449USA (also with a complete
Pentium-II system). They claim to have a 2U ATX chassis too for as
little as $371USA, but I'm not sure how they do that!
