Re: DATACENTER: Design guide for power systems

That reminds me... Came across a magazine that was new to me that might be
of interest to folks here--a supplement to Internet Telephony dealing with
power:

http://www.internettelephony.com/htm/supplements_Network.html

Last week we experienced our first extended power outage since opening here
in 1997. Apparently a pole was on fire, so it took about an hour to fix.
We sent someone out with a digital camera hoping for a picture for our home
page, but no luck. Ironically, we had just announced a sale on a UPS to
our customers a few days previous. Tempting fate? :) Anyway, our trusty
APC Matrix did its job. Kind of fun running around with stuff beeping and
the emergency lights on, but not something I want to do every week...

Also--getting the most bang for my email buck here--I want to thank
everyone for their helpful replies over the past couple of months. We have
a proposal in now on an historic building here in Norwich, the old central
firehouse built in 1902, which is located a couple hundred feet from the
ILEC's CO. If we're selected as the developers, you can count on more
questions. ;)
