Fwd: Re: New Word..

Yesterday, someone sent me this "Vocabulary word of the day" :

       AlGoreithm, n. (al-gor-ith-m)

Any method of calculation performed endlessly until
a predetermined desired result is produced.

Okay, I thought, but to be honest, neither candidate or party is really interested in what's true, right, fair or legal. They just want to win (which is why I actually wish neither of them were going to president).

So, I felt another "Vocabulary word" was also in order, and came up with :

       Dubbyaism, n. (dub-yu-iz-m)

The practice of stopping a calculation as soon as it appears
that a predetermined desired result has been produced.

I think the two together pretty much sum up their approach to this whole fiasco.

Now of course, most Democrats will think that the 2nd one is right on the money, but that the first one is terribly unfair to Gore, who is "of course" just trying to do what's fair and right by making sure that all votes are accurately counted. Uh huh... right...

And, well, most Republicans will chuckle at the 1st one, but insist that the 2nd one is a horrible character assassination of Bush, who is "simply" trying to make sure that the election is handled in a legal and proper way. Yeah... sure...

Anyway, the way I figure it, you guys are sure to appreciate one or the other, and heck, maybe even both, so I sent it to the list.

Cheers,

Scott
