What a waste of a perfectly good blank tape that would've been!
I watched just a few key moments, like the 'romantic dancing' done by the
two new lovebirds as they concluded the show. I was perplexed enough when I
saw trailers for the show. The concept... the shallowness... the greed...
I can honestly say that this TV show, above anything else, has so far been
the biggest motivator for me to move back to the Netherlands. When I was
there over the Holiday break, and watched in amazement as the biggest TV
program there these days is this thing called "Big Brother", where a bunch
of people live in a house filled with camera's, and the home audience gets
to vote who gets kicked out with the final person left getting a bag of money.
Millions of people watching how some idiot is doing the dishes, the laundry,
or has a casual conversation about the weather. I was convinced that I had
no reason to go back home. Until now. Fox has managed to come up with a show
that's even worse. BTW, Big Brother will be on USA TV this summer. On
starved-for-ratings CBS. Enjoy.
I'm in need of a shelter. A big bunker. Forget about trying to live through
a nuclear attack. I just want to mentally survive modern day television.
