I got an email today from the manager for a development project I provide
support for.
<email>
I was looking at [server] today. The source was right where you said it
would be! I don't know how, but all the fiels got ,v added to the end - so
I took that off. Then I went to look at the code, and it had all these
wierd lines in it - all kinds of head, branch, people's names. I don't
know why anyone would put that there! It took me *hours* to clean that all
out. None of the developers would admit to putting it there - do you think
there's something wrong with the hard disk? I got out my linux
administrator's book. Perhaps you should run chkdsk on it. I tried to run
it for you, but it gave me some error.
Please do everything you can to make sure the source files don't
accumulate lines like that in the future!
</email>
I don't know if I should laugh, or cry, or ask to be extended again. ;>
