Centenarian seeks soulmate
A 102-year-old Italian who has survived both world wars and outlived two
wives is looking for a new soulmate - but not only for a platonic
relationship, as he keenly underlines.
In the tiny town of Borgia, in Calabria, Salvatore Bordino is known for
chatting up all women who cross his path.
"I have got a house, a pension, and I can still fulfil my duties as a
man. Why shouldn't I find a wife?" the centenarian asked Italian
newspaper Il Nuovo.
A retired cemetery worker, Mr Bordino prides himself on being in good
health and economically independent. He lives alone in a two-bedroom
flat, drives a three-wheeled pick-up truck and occasionally fixes broken
watches for his fellow townspeople.
She must be pretty and in very good health - I still haven't called it a
day on certain activities

"You should see how he looks at women - he courts them all, just like a
fisherman who hauls in the nets hoping to catch at least one fish," said
Filippo Vonella, a 35-year-old local baker who has befriended him.
Apart from women, Salvatore has another life-long passion - hunting.
But a few years ago, authorities took away his gun licence on the
grounds that he might pose a threat to the community.
Shortly after, he proved everybody wrong by winning a clay-pigeon
competition at the local shooting range, but his career as a hunter was
over.
Now he is focusing on finding himself a new wife:
"She must be pretty and in very good health. I still haven't called it a
day on certain activities," he said.
