Let me tell you a little story.. :-)

I'm on another mailing list called "NEW-LIST". It's a moderated list
that carries announcements for new mailing lists.

At times, mailing lists of questionable value are announced. The
Petticoat Junction and the Buffy-Fans mailing lists fell into
that category.

I forwarded the announcement to the mob list, and made an appropriate
snide comment at the top.

Those postings are now in the MOB web archives. Apparently they're
indexed in various search engines, and come up when people do
searches for "Petticoat Junction" or "Buffy The Vampire Slayer".
Most carbon-based life forms can read the page and figure out
what's going on. Unfortunately, America Online customers either
aren't carbon-based life forms or are immeasureably stupid.

To take care of some of this, I added some strong warnings on the
two Buffy the Vampire Slayer mob postings to explain this to
AOL folks in great detail. This has kept most of them from posting
here. There are still a few, however, who are so determined to be
morons that they post anyway.
