Good news for Mob list folks in San Francisco- DirecTV just started
offering local service there. I don't know if this covers the
San Jose/Silicon Valley area, tho.

And really good news for those of us in Atlanta, too. DirecTV is 
supposed to begin offering local channels here on Saturday. It'll
cost $5.99/month (first month free) to get them. To see when they're
availible tune to channel 901. If the channel exists, it'll give you
ordering information.

The law says that DirecTV has to offer _ALL_ channels availible locally,
so it's likely that we'll get a better local channel selection than 
Media One offers.
