static vs dynamic ipv4 address

I am looking into connecting to the 6bone but everything I have read seems
to indicate that the box I am going to establish the tunnel with needs to
have a static ipv4 address. I was wondering if it can be done with a
dynamic address or is is just much easier to use static addresses?
