This is not really an OS issue, rather a resolver / nameserver issue.
I believe Solaris 8 packs the BIND resolver library by default, not
sure about the version; if you are indeed having problems, you might
upgrade your BIND installation to a newer version, or switch to a
different resolver library and name server/cache software.
