The ability to do this is already built-in to more recent OS host commands
(eg FreeBSD). Also, there are PERL modules that already handle IPv6
transparently such as Net::IP. Some of these are lagging though as
they're still outputting ip6.int instead of ip6.arpa but that should
change over time.
