kernel 1.1.77 warnings!!!

It would appear from perusing Usenet that kernel 1.1.77 has 
introduced some MAJOR new bugs into the kernel.... simple things
like getty/uugety and dos filesystem support are malfunctioning...
(not to mentions UMSDOS - not inherently a BAD idea IMHO :)  - but
not very desireable if you're running it.) 

I would suggest staying clear of this release for a while... with
errors popping up this quickly, 1.1.78 is sure to come around soon!
