Hi. What's the name of the program that shrinks dos partitions?

In the just beginning saga of my laptop, it has arrived. Presumably with
win95 on one large partition. I'd like to shrink it down without losing
any of the data on it, and then install linux in the new space...

Advice, tips, etc for a Pee Cee Novice will be greatly appreciated.
