[ale] pthread synchronization across shared memory.

	Guys,

	Has anyone ever dealt with synchronizing threads (both within the
same process and between processes) using pthread_xxx_t's which reside on
a segment of shared memory? If so, does Linux implement this correctly? I
am asking because I am getting some rather bizarre behavior under Linux
(primarily, a pthread_cond_signal() which blocks) which does not happen
under solaris 7.
