[ale] Chicken ,Egg, and RPM

	I need to update the rpm package(to 4.0) in order to install a
kernel from the redhat rawhide site but the current version of rpm gives me
the follwoing error:

only packages with major numbers <= 3 are supported by this version of RPM
error: rpm-4.0-0.56.i386.rpm cannot be installed

I went to rpm.org to attempt to compile the latest version and alas it is in
rpm format and gives me the same error.

How do you update RPM?@#
