[ale] StarOffice won't start

I'm having a problem with StarOffice 5.2 that maybe someone has seen
before.

In the last week staroffice won't start up.  I've been using it for
about a year and last week it began not running.  It doesn't fail, it
just hangs there.

I've tried reinstalling, but the installation does pretty much the
same thing.  When it gets to the part where it is supposed to do the
installation, it hangs.

The full installation of on an nsf server and I've done a network
install from it.  My system is RedHat 6.2 (2.2.14) with KDE 2.1 and
helixcode Gnome installed.

Any bright ideas?
