[ale] Debian distribution

First off, I'd like to thank everyone for their help. I truly appreciate it.

I've decided to go with Storm Linux since it seems to be easier for linux
beginners and is based on the debian distribution. I have rudimentary *nix
skills (I've been using NTEmacs with the Cygwin package for a while now) and
hopefully this will make the transition easier.

Just out of curiosity though, it seems to me that most *nix users have one
distribution preference over another and I was wondering what the personal
preferences of users here are, and why...
