I thought that using a modem and dumb terminal to connect was cool too.?? DTR dialing is also cool.

Break out boxes and such are no longer taught in many areas. I have 
notice that the wintel crowd doesn't care about a technology, software or 
hardware, until their machines can use it no matter how advanced.
I admit that i am not up to snuff on your subject. But at lest I know a 
few hams and/or computer gurus who can give me a crash course


Kinda reminds me when I amazed a sysadmin of a IBM mainframe network by 
logging in by phone with a dumb terminal and a modem.
