[ale] Mozilla background in putrid green...........

Happy Holidays !

I'm running Mozilla-0.96 on Debian-2.4.6 and it comes up with the usual 
background [classic] as root but as a normal user it comes up with an 
awful pastel green background.

Where is this setting, as well as other such settings, please ?
