[ale] What were they thinking?

My 1/2 cents worth...

Asus A7V133 w/ AMD Duron 800
256 Meg of memory
3dfx Voodoo3 3000
Redhat 7.1 w/ KDE 2.x
Maxtor 30g Ultra ATA 100

Obviously I don't have any problems running it but the first splash screen
is kind of slow.  I really am impressed though with the way it looks now.  I
guess the KDE guys had to sacrifice some CPU cycles in order to get it
looking like this but I think it's worth it...
