[ale] Linux distribution

I also cut my teeth on Slackware, although I can't do it the poetic justice
demonstrated by others on this list.
I just ordered Slackware version 8 from CheapBytes.
I've used RedHat and Debian at various times. Still have RedHat at the
office...
