[ale] unable to boot up in run level 5 so I expunge linuxconf

Many thanks to everyone who gave me a helping hand in solving the
problem of not being able to boot up in run level 5 after installing
linuxconf.

Unfortunately my cause turned out to be an uphill battle to the point
that I decided to expunge linuxconf.
