[ale] LFS docs?

im looking for some info on 2 things.. one i just need
a mass linux doc like to tell me everything i can
possibly learn... whats recommended? and also i want
to learn each program that comes with linux the basic
install like bare debian, stuff like snort, grep, the
basics.. i wanna know linux inside and out.... i
havent started to yet due to wondering what was
recommended by the gurus? free is nice, books aint bad
either. thanks
