[ale] Clie on Linux

Was anybody successful on putting a Clie to sync on RedHat?
I downloaded coldsync, the patch for my kernel, recompiled,
created the .coldsync directory,etc. Everything by the book and still 
failed.

Tried the j-pilot ang gnome-pilot w/xmian(with all patches) also with no 
success.

If anybody has the perfect recipe, would you please let me know?
