Both my current dsl provider and my previous placed the filter on the 
outside of my house, hence, I didn't have to do anything on the phones 
inside.  By the way, placing a filter on every phone sounds kind of 
stupid when the same can be accomplished with a single device on the 
outside.

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?
