[ale] Lockups on older laptops

I've tried to install RH 7.3 on an older Toshiba today.  IT can get 6.2
and 7.0 to install fine.  It seems that when loading PCMCIA support it
locks up.  Is there a fix or does the new pcmcia kernel drivers no
longer work with these?
