[ale] wireless peer-to-peer pcmcia on RH using HP notebook

Hello my Linux Masters, 
I have a good question for you - maybe one of you already when through this problem under different circumstances.
I have a HP Omnibook 6000 with an 802.11b Lucent Tech. PCMCIA card; I also have a HP Omnibook 500 using the same type of card for a peer-to-peer connection. I am running Red Hat 7.3 (KDE for desktop) in both units, and it is dual boot with Windows XP. 

The peer-to-peer works fine in Windows XP ?????? no hardware problem there. Under Red Had the PCMCIA card is recognized, but when I tried to add a wireless connection, using the Network Administration Tool GUI, I am unable to find the wireless ??????selection?????? . 

I do have an eth0 selection, and both machine are DHCP configured, but I can only connected one unit at the time to our LAN. Most of the information that I find under ??????Establishing a Wireless Connection?????? requires an Ethernet card.

Couple days ago I find a web page with wireless commands, but unfortunately I lost the page and I could not find it again.

I saw somewhere that I have to download a PCMCIA package for RH 7.3 and wireless options are not available. <- is that true?

Let me know if you need additional information and if you have any more questions. And here are couple answers?

Q: Why do I have HP notebooks?
A: because I am a ??????contractor?????? for HP and I support HP mobile products, in other words I have easy access to them

Q: Why do I want to set up a wireless peer-to-peer connection using RH on notebook? 
A: For a Data communication Network class project. Note: Windows XP was way tooo easy. 

Q: what else? ?????? Maybe a business man/woman who travels wish to have similar option for RH.
