[ale] gentoo and dns

well im running dhcp so i figured i didnt need to edit
my etc/resolv file however when i got this error
"temporary failure in name resolution"
i tried it anyways.. well i still am getting that
error :( i get this error when running the command
"emerge rsync" if someone could help me out i would
greatly appreciate it! thanks
