[ale] apt-get on slack

hello to all alers,
    i came across a port of apt-get for slack at linuxpackages.net and i'm on my way to installing it. i just wanna know if anyone have tried apt-get for slack? is it okey to mix debian packages with slack? the update list seems to be pointed towards debian site so i just wanna know if there are possible problems with this. needless to say, this is a newbie question.. :):)... i'm running slack 8 with kernel 2.4.5
