[ale] QT

I find that the docs on trolltech, although quite large, are very useful. A pretty good book, however, 
is "Programming with Qt" by Matthias Dalheimer (who is a big Qt contributor) from O'Reilly. 2nd 
edition covers Qt 3 which you definitely want.
