Just a guess, based on the "shelf space at B&N" criterion, I'd say
MySQL is most popular. Of course, popularity is a terrible reason to
choose a technical solution :-) MySQL and Postgres support rather
different feature sets. I use MySQL for simple things, but have never
really used PostgreSQL for any real-life purpose, so I can't say any
more than that.
