[ale] OT: micropayment scheme

Slashdot had a link to this article about micropayments. They haven't worked 
thus far, because the credit card transaction fees are too high to make small 
payments profitable. But Ron Rivest, of RSA fame, has come up with a scheme 
that throws some payments away and makes others worth $10. Mathematically, it 
all works out to a profit for the vendor. It's a fascinating concept and one 
that could make a whole new series of business plans workable on the Net.
