I lost all video when a generic NVidia card started going
south. Fortunately the box was still under warranty so trouble-
shooting and  replacement were cost free. But the box was down for
several days.  Nothing on the card looked bad. No smoked or 
blackened parts -- nada. The card just died after 10 months.

Unfortunately, these things happen. <sigh>
