	The first thing I'd try is removing the NVIDIA drivers.  Since they're
closed source, we can't tell if they're doing "bad" things or not.  I
know many folks have complete success, but back when I tried 'em, I had
no end of problems.  I finally ditched 'em, and had no further problems.
