[ale] Installing FastAccess in Linux?

Yeah, I know the instructions say to pop in a CD to install some Window$
software.  But I'd really like to circumvent that (future support issues
notwithstanding).

After plugging in the modem with all lights on green, has anyone on here
successfully done the *initial* PPPoE client request from Linux?  If so,
what all would I need to know?  I know my username, but what is my initial
password?  And do I need to specify an ISP ID?
