[ale] OT: toasting a CPU

I know...really odd.  Last night, I rebooted, and the bios controlled the
fans and kept CPU under 45 degrees.  After I read your email, thought I'd
check temp.  76 degrees, both fans off.  I'm wondering if it's either a
buggy bios or a buggy i8kutils...
