Jeff, what does the format utility in the 2940uw say the geometry of the
drive is...?... does it match what seagate says it should be?
If the controller sees the drive correctly then it's either the firmware
in the controller or something in the gentoo sources (Which I suppose is
plausible considering gentoo is still in heavy development... But I
gotta say that bsd style ports system sure looks good!).
