Sorry to hear you've had problems.  FWIW, when I ran into the problems
with bad memory the simm actually *passed* memtest86...that gave me a
headache for awhile.  But, replacing it did the trick, and crucial
replaced it for free, so I wasn't complaining.  Perhaps memtest86 can't
catch everything.
