I had that problem on the 2.5.x series. You need to narrow it down to the 
particular driver and try to compile it manually so you can find the 
error. ...or just comment it out of .config if you do not really need it. 
Sorry, but I can't recall which driver it was. I do seem to remember that 
it was something I'd never even heard of.
