I'd re-recommend getting a copy of Linux format, this is the June issue. 
  They do a laptop roundup which includes seven different laptops.

They also review Mandrake 9.1, Red Hat 9 and SuSE 8.2.  Spoiler, RH 
comes in last, although still receives 8/10.

This issue also includes the Linuxpro insert which has an interesting 
article on e-voting.
