[ale] Hot FS backup

I was thinking about my backup systems tonight and was thinking of making a change.

Currently I only backup 2 types of data.

1) MySQL data
   This is done with 2 slaves connecting to one master

2) Huge CVS tree
   This is done via rsync.

I would like to know if there is a way to do some sort
of hot fs backup on a filesystem.  When I make a change to the
master MySQL Database it gets replicated down stream to my slaves.  
Is there a way to do the same on my CVS tree?
