It's true.

Debian 3.0 is 7 CDs on Intel. Debian Unstable is up to what looks like, with
a quick-n-dirty count, 12,900 packages (see
<http://packages.debian.org/unstable/allpackages.html>). Both are bigger
than SuSE 8.2 Pro....
