I had issues with my HP Laptop connecting to another mchine via
cross-over cable. I'm now having issues with a netgear switch.
When I transfer data this scrolls all over the console of the laptop
running RH 7.3:
eth0: MII status changed: Autonegotiation advertising 01e11 partner 45e1.
The transfer is a tad slow and this streams from the kernel. Can I lock
it down and turn off autonogotiation.
