You did the right thing.  If your sister had used the machine in some places
(and called for tech support) she could have been accused of pirating
software.  I speak on behalf of my wife's aunt, it can happen and does.
Also, (it seems that) you are guilty until proven innocent more times than
not in this type of situation.
