I've just started using OpenBox3 (openbox.org), and it's GREAT!
It can run as a stand alone *box or as a wm for other Environments (i.e.
replace metacity for Gnome, etc.). It has all xml based configuration
files, lightweight, and it adheres to the open desktop standards.
I could go on for days about it.
