FWIW, my last rebate from MC, $40, took about twelve weeks, but it
finally made it.  It was from Belnap I think.  I would always send
registered mail, though.  I was supposed to get a $50 rebate from
T-Mobile on one of their phones: it never happened, and I didn't use
registered mail.  

Also, I would take a close up photograph of the contents of the mail
before I sent it and date the (digital) photograph; sign it with your
gpg signature (heh).
