[ale] ssh experts?

Okay, I use ssh a lot, but I've got something happening I don't quite 
understand.  I've got a box with a capture card in it.  It's configured 
and works.  I ssh to the box from another box that has a capture/tv 
card.  I'm on the first box with the capture card only.  I start xawtv, 
I get television.  So, why/how is it that I'm starting xawtv on one box 
and it's accessing the card in the other??

Anyone have any ideas?
