[ale] deleting email before downloading (pop3)

is there a program that i can use to delete mail from pop3 boxes (from mindspring dial-up)?

i found "pop3browser" and a couple of others, but haven't been able to get it to work properly.

the machine that i want to do this with is running Debian Woody.

anyone use something like this and can give a bit of help?
