D'oh! time.
I switched the drive from cable-select to Master, then reseated it. My PC
recognizes it. Now to format it. Not sure if I want to make it so my Win
stuff can see it (FAT32 or NTFS), and I'll just continue backing up to tape
on my SuSE desktop, or if I want to stop with the tape backups and backup to
a 40Gig USB drive. Hmmm, think I better buy a USB2.0 card before attempting
to a mirror a drive over a USB port!
Maybe even backup to USB drive and leave that at home, and backup to tape and
drop that off at the bank's safe deposit box. That would work.
And the tape backups paid off this weekend. I hacked my desktop in a major
way, and just rolled it back to last weeks image. Phew. A breath of relief!
